Distractions

 The glow of Elysium, the realm of eternal peace, was a comfort to those who resided there. Elijah, the empathetic angel, and Sophia, the fact-driven angel, both robed in iridescent light, were engaged in a thoughtful discussion.

"It's such a tragic loss, Sophia," Elijah's voice carried the sorrow. "The life of a young, dedicated schoolteacher like Gemma cut short because of a man's distraction. It’s heartbreaking."

Sophia, with her wings glimmering under the light of Elysium, nodded. "A tragedy indeed. But let us look at the facts. Bailey's careless decision to stream a show while driving led to this. His actions were devoid of the requisite sense of responsibility."

Elijah’s eyes softened, "Indeed, Sophia. But let us not forget the strain Bailey bears now. The guilt, the extreme mental health issues he has been suffering. It's a significant punishment in itself. His life, too, has irrevocably changed."

"But that does not excuse his actions, Elijah," Sophia asserted, her voice unyielding. "His reckless behavior resulted in the death of an innocent person. A woman who had her whole life ahead, recently engaged, a beloved teacher to many. It was unnecessary and avoidable."

Elijah sighed deeply, his wings fluttering slightly. "That's true. His moment of negligence brought forth such a painful outcome. But we must remember, we are not the judges. We are here to guide and to console. We have brought Gemma here to Elysium, where she is in peace now. That should offer some solace."

"Peace, yes," Sophia said pensively. "And justice? Does Gemma have that? In her earthly life, she strived for knowledge and understanding, imparting them to her students. Now, it's our duty to ensure her story serves as a lesson."

Elijah looked at Sophia, recognizing the critical nature she was known for, "You're right, Sophia. A hard lesson it is indeed. Perhaps her story can teach others about the dangers of distraction while driving, ensuring that her legacy will continue to guide even in her absence."

"In fact," Sophia added forcefully, "it is crucial that this incident instigates a change in society, sparking conversations about safe driving and responsibility. In her death, Gemma can help to save countless other lives."

Elijah nodded, "And while we grieve her untimely departure, we can find comfort in knowing that she rests here, in Elysium, free from the pains of the world."
